The compressed keyboard is an 'all in one' keyboard containing all keys available on your chosen terminal. Often it closely resembles an original terminal keyboard.

TTerm for iPad in landscape orientation
In landscape orientation a 'compressed keyboard' is available, with all keys, including number pad and function keys available.

The compressed keyboard tends to be quite large and TTerm for iPad does not display this keyboard when you hold your device in portrait orientation because the keys themselves would be too small and difficult to use. In landscape orientation this is not an issue.

The compressed keyboard is available only in landscape orientation, however all terminal keys on the compressed keyboard are available in other keyboard groups such as the ABC?123 and Numpad and Function Key keyboards, which are always available in all orientations.

You can turn the Compressed keyboard option on or off by editing your saved connection, selecting Keyboard and toggling the Use Compressed Keyboard option.
