TTWin delivers to Toll Group

Toll Holdings Limited, Australia's largest logistics and transport provider has joined forces with Turbosoft, Australia's leading local terminal emulation producer for all their terminal emulation needs. As a result of its rapid growth through acquisition, Toll found itself with a number of disparate systems requiring the use of several terminal emulators. With in excess of 2000 users throughout the Group, training and support became major issues.

In order to deliver the best service to its clients and stay ahead of the field, Toll has maintained a policy of employing state-of-the-art IT to constantly improve its operation. In accordance with this policy, Toll went in search of host-connectivity software which complemented the standard of existing technology.

Bernie Snoek, Managing Director of Turbosoft commented, "In conversing with Toll about their terminal emulation requirements, it was clear that accurate keyboard mappings as well as versatility to cater for its multi-host environment were critical factors in their purchasing decision. The beauty of TTWin is that it provides full keyboard re-mapping as well as access to over 80 terminal types in the one package, which was exactly what Toll was in search of. Full keyboard re-mappings means that users can map text strings, host sequences or emulation keys to any key combination on PC keyboard."

Stephen Heath, Technical Specialist at Toll IT, found TTWin, Turbosoft's flagship product, in his search for a single terminal emulator that would allow users to connect to various host machines simultaneously and also had the ability to tailor keyboard mappings and emulations on an individual session basis.

Heath said, "The facilities offered by existing emulation software was limited to allowing only one keyboard mapping and most had a very limited range of emulations". He added, "This versatility is essential for the increasing number of users that connect to different systems and applications simultaneously in the Toll Domain. The adoption of TTWin has meant all these needs have been satisfied and more."

When the subject of support was raised Heath commented, "Turbosoft's commitment to service was another factor we considered in choosing TTWin. Turbosoft has a 24 hour support policy, which means at any time of the day should a need arise, we can rely on receiving efficient sales and support service. The adoption of one emulation package makes good sense from a support viewpoint, and speaking of support, Turbosoft's sales and technical support has been excellent".

Toll is currently embracing new business-wide application solutions. TTWin fits perfectly with Tolls future plans, as it is continually being improved to meet emerging needs. "Not only does TTWin do what we need now, it will also meet our future requirements, which we describe as 'future-proofed' enterprise-wide connectivity" adds Heath.

Snoek further remarked, "I am very pleased that Toll has decided to select TTWin as part of its plans for the future. It confirms that we made the right decisions years ago when we resolved to focus on reliable and flexible software as well as outstanding support and service. I commend Toll on their far reaching vision in the direction they have pursued, and am delighted that Turbosoft is able to play a part in their success."

Turbosoft is the largest Australian developer of high quality PC-host connectivity solutions and exports to all parts of the world.
